Temporary Ride Glenwood and Airport Suspension

Glenwood Springs temporarily suspends Ride Glenwood public transit and non-critical air flights at the Glenwood Springs Municipal Airport beginning Monday, March 23, 2020.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, CO – Effective Monday, March 23, the City of Glenwood Springs and RFTA are temporarily suspending operations of the Ride Glenwood public transit service until further notice. This change is being enacted to limit the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in our community.

Ride Glenwood serves the Community Center, the Meadows shopping center, West Glenwood Mall, Hwy 6/24, Downtown and the Roaring Fork Market Place. RFTA’s BRT and Local services along the regional Highway 82 corridor can be used to access many of these locations in the absence of Ride Glenwood. Please see RFTA schedules for times and service maps at www.rfta.com.

If you are an individual with a disability and want to discuss your travel options due the absence of Ride Glenwood service, please contact RFTA at 970-945-9117.

The City of Glenwood Springs is also temporarily suspending all non-critical air traffic at the Glenwood Springs Municipal Airport. The Airport will maintain essential administrative operations and all critical emergency medical, search and rescue, and local aviation and fire emergency services. This is a proactive measure to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 within Garfield County and across county lines.

“The City’s number one priority is ensuring the health safety of our residents. Suspending some City services temporarily, such as Ride Glenwood and non-emergency air traffic at the airport, makes sense at this time. We hope to resume our normal service level as soon as possible and appreciate everyone’s efforts to help slow community spread,” stated Mayor Jonathan Godes.
